Pourquoi participer

Learn how to apply asset-based community development to nature-based education in your own context. This session equips you with practical tools to map local assets, build connections, and design quick-start initiatives—so you leave ready to implement and adapt the approach in your community.

Description de la séance

This interactive session introduces participants to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) as a powerful approach to advancing nature-based education. Hosted by the Canadian Centre for Nature-Based Education, the session shifts the focus from deficits to strengths—highlighting how people, places, programs, policies, and philanthropy can be mobilized for impact. Through guided exercises, participants will learn how to identify and map local assets, connect them in creative ways, and design small, rapid pilots that can grow into larger initiatives. The workshop emphasizes practical application: you won’t just hear about ABCD, you’ll practice it and leave with tools you can adapt in your own community. Participants will also engage in a marketplace of “offers and asks,” creating immediate opportunities for collaboration. Whether you are an educator, policymaker, or conservation practitioner, this session provides a clear framework to start building locally grounded, globally connected, and action-oriented nature-based education initiatives.
