Biographie

Aurélie studied oceanography in France from 2000 to 2009. She spent two years in Bordeaux (University of Bordeaux I), three in Marseille (University of the Mediterranean Sea) and four in Paris where she completed her PhD training in Environmental Sciences at Pierre & Marie Curie University (now Sorbonne Université (since Jan 2018)) in physical oceanography in 2009. Between 2006 and 2009, she spent a total of 94 days at sea, taking part in three different international scientific expeditions: through Drake Passage; between Iceland and Canada; and between Cape Town (RSA) and Punta Arenas (Chile). Aurélie completed a 3-month internship in Arcachon Marine Station (on the French Atlantic coast) studying biodiversity of the Gironde estuary. In 2005, she worked during 5 months on the evolution of physical characteristics in the Equatorial Atlantic Ocean. In her PhD thesis, Aurélie studied the Interannual variability of the Malvinas/Falklands current using satellite data combined with in situ measurements.
