David GARRETT

As CEO of The Wilderness Project, David has led the expansion of river basin research and storytelling from the Okavango to other major Sub-Saharan African basins. He has also developed a continent-wide network of government and NGO partnerships. 

With a background in economics, strategy, and development, David has worked across water, renewable energy, and waste management sectors, focusing on policy, organisational development, and public–private partnerships. He has lived and worked in Africa, Australia, Europe and North America, leading policy initiatives in water management, agriculture and trade. David has also founded and scaled companies in renewable energy, waste management, and retail, gaining extensive experience in enterprise development and operational growth.
