Kartikeya V. Sarabhai is an eminent environment educator and founder director of the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), India. He holds Tripos in Natural Science from Cambridge University, UK and Post Graduation in Development Communications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
Mr. Sarabhai has been recognized globally for his pioneering work in EE and ESD with several national and international awards, including the International “Brandwein Medal“, the “Tree of Learning”award and the “Padma Shri” one of the India’s highest civilian awards.
Mr. Sarabhai has served as a member of the Reference Group for the Decade on Education for Sustainable Development and a Co-chair of Priority Action Area 1, Advancing Policy of the Global Action Programme on ESD of UNESCO.
He also served as a Chair of the Governing Council of the Earth Charter International and is associated with a number of educational and charitable trusts, as well as several committees set up by the Government of India and other national and international organizations in the fields of environment, wildlife protection, culture and education.
