In the context of the UN Ocean Decade, this interactive fishbowl session will explore the vital role of nature-based solutions for carbon sequestration, with a focus on mangroves. Mangroves are crucial for capturing and storing significant amounts of CO2 and linking coastal ecosystems to the high seas. The session will cover the science of mangrove conservation and carbon sequestration, governance challenges across jurisdictions, and sustainable co-benefits.
