Environmental education is key to shaping future sustainability leaders and is a priority under the Abu Dhabi Roadmap for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), which highlights nature-based education as essential for fostering environmental stewardship.Through Sustainable Schools and Campus Initiatives (SSI), educators and students engage in green audits, eco-clubs, field trips, and hands-on sustainability projects, bridging classroom learning with real-world impact. Participants will explore how digital tools and immersive learning experiences can drive behavioural change, empower educators, and engage the next generation in conservation.
The session will also emphasize gender-inclusive approaches in sustainability education, ensuring equal representation and leadership opportunities for women and youth in environmental action. Attendees will gain insights into integrating nature-based learning into curricula, aligning with global and regional sustainability priorities.
