Ulrika is a Senior Programme Officer with the Protected and Conserved Areas Team at IUCN. She is currently leading IUCN’s engagement and contribution related to the protection and effective management of the Albanian Vjosa River. She is also implementing the IUCN Green List Standard for fair and effective Protected and Conserved Areas with strong linkages to IUCN’s World Heritage and Internationally Designated Areas (IDAs) work, as well as running Participatory 3D Modelling exercises. Ulrika is the freshwater focal point and has many years’ experience in the field of fluvial geomorphology, river restoration, monitoring and evaluation. She holds a PhD in Geography and has previously worked for the UK River Restoration Centre and the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology.
