Pourquoi participer
To pause and listen to diverse stories and perspectives about how our connectedness and kinship with the more-than-human world weaves across diverse lived experiences and cultures.
To begin to reimagine what conservation might look like if we respect the agency and cultures of - and kinship with - other beings.
Description de la séance
We invite participants to listen to three stories of everyday interactions with the more-than-humans. Indigenous speakers and scientists will share their perspectives on their relationships, or kinship, with more-than-humans, drawing out examples of the agency and cultures that they see in the other beings, including wild species, they have spent time with and talking about how this has shaped them, their lives and their work. We broaden out the category of the more-than-human to include a variety of spirit beings, spirit masters, wild animals, plants, mountains, rivers, forest, and land itself. A facilitated discussion will follow, inspired by these stories, inviting audience members to contribute their own perspectives.Host
