Description de la séance

This session introduces the Marxan Planning Platform (MaPP), a user-friendly, cloud-based tool developed by The Nature Conservancy and Microsoft to support spatial conservation planning. MaPP enables diverse stakeholders—including governments, NGOs, and communities—to engage in transparent, inclusive, and data-driven decision-making aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework. The presentation will include a live demonstration and real-world examples that illustrate how MaPP is being used to inform conservation priorities and policy across scales. A Q&A segment will provide opportunities for deeper engagement and discussion. By showcasing accessible digital tools, the session highlights how MaPP lowers barriers to participation and builds capacity across sectors. While particularly valuable for practitioners and decision-makers, MaPP also offers entry points for young professionals to contribute meaningfully to conservation planning, supporting broader goals of leadership development and intergenerational collaboration.
