Pourquoi participer

Join us to discover the latest IUCN assessment of the 60 natural World Heritage sites in the Americas, including Nahanni, Pantanal and Los Glaciares; learn from world-class management practices; and help think through how we can scale up partnerships to protect our most exceptional protected areas!

Description de la séance

From the thousands of protected areas in the Americas, only 60 are considered of Outstanding Universal Value for all of humanity. All countries across the Americas have ratified the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, making a commitment to do all they can to preserve World Heritage for future generations. Yet despite their iconic status, the world’s most exceptional protected areas are highly threatened. This event will release results of the latest assessment of the Americas’ natural heritage (IUCN World Heritage Outlook 4 – made possible by hundreds of contributors including WCPA and indigenous knowledge holders), highlight world-class management practices led by IUCN Members, and explore how the Union can drive World Heritage conservation efforts across the Americas.
