Admire CHANYANDURA

Biographie

Admire Chanyandura is the Unit Head Conservation Research Development at Al Ain Zoo, United Arab Emirates. He holds an MPhil in Conservation Science, an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, and a BSc (Hons) in Wildlife and Safari Management, alongside professional training in Project Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Grant Writing, Monitoring & Evaluation, and GIS.

Before joining Al Ain Zoo, he lectured at Chinhoyi University of Technology, teaching courses in ecology, climate change, and wildlife management, and collaborated with WWF Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, CAMPFIRE Association, and C-Quest Capital on conservation–community partnerships, ecological assessments, and sustainable land-use projects. These roles strengthened his expertise in applied research and policy-relevant conservation practice.

Admire has authored over 18 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in leading outlets such as Springer, Elsevier, Ecology and Evolution, and Scientific African. At Al Ain Zoo, he leads research initiatives, capacity building, and international collaborations, bridging science, practice, and community engagement to promote inclusive and adaptive conservation strategies that respond to biodiversity loss and climate change. His ongoing doctoral research explores disruptive conservation, climate-induced stress, and adaptive wildlife economies, aiming to develop sustainable models that enhance ecological integrity, socio-economic resilience, and innovative governance.
