Join IUCN and NATURA to explore how culture, education, and nature access can rewild urban minds. This session features the launch of the NATURA Global Roadmap for Urban NbS and highlights tools, strategies, and monitoring systems to reconnect people with nature and accelerate inclusive, biodiverse urban transformation.
Description de la séance
Jointly convened by the IUCN Secretariat and NATURA, with contributions from IUCN CEC, AIPH, ICLEI, Cape Town, Terra Dubai, and Singapore National Parks, this session explores how reconnecting people with nature in cities can transform urban sustainability. It highlights the role of culture, education, and equitable access to green and blue spaces in fostering stewardship, well-being, and social cohesion. The session will showcase nature-based curricula, community-led initiatives, and the use of monitoring tools to track cities’ ecological progress. A key feature will be the launch of the NATURA Global Roadmap for Urban Nature-Based Solutions—a first-of-its-kind synthesis grounded in seven regional assessments and co-produced with over 80 experts. Developed with The Nature Conservancy and ICLEI, the Roadmap offers actionable guidance for cities and governments to operationalize nature-based solutions and accelerate inclusive, biodiverse urban transformation.Speaker
