Pourquoi participer

This event highlights the next generation of sustainability leaders presenting innovative, research-driven solutions to urgent climate and environmental challenges. Through the 3-Minute Project Competition, attendees will gain exclusive insights into UAEU’s “Plant the Emirates” initiative, showcasing student-led projects aligned with national priorities, SDGs, and real-world impact.

Description de la séance

As part of its contribution to the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment’s (MOCCAE) “Plant the Emirates” initiative, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has launched a dedicated undergraduate research program focused on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In its most recent cycle, the program funded 27 student-led projects addressing critical themes such as climate action, biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, and environmental innovation. These projects, concluding in September, will culminate in a “3-Minute Project Competition,” where shortlisted students will deliver concise and impactful presentations before a judging panel of representatives from MOCCAE, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), and UAEU. This initiative not only develops students’ research and communication skills but also bridges academic knowledge with national climate priorities. By equipping youth with the tools to tackle real-world sustainability challenges, UAEU reaffirms its commitment to the UN SDGs and to supporting the UAE’s vision for a greener future.
