Note explicative
With the removal of the interim status of the Climate Crisis Commission, its funding shall no longer be limited to “extra-budgetary resources” as was prescribed in paragraph 4 of WCC-2020-Res-110.
The reference to Art. 74 of the Statutes means including all the functions of a Commission set forth in Article 75 of the IUCN Statutes and the Regulations.
The Commissions Financial Rules adopted by Council in accordance with Regulation 83 provide guidance on the management of income raised and expenditure incurred for Commission activities and on the use of Commission Operating Funds (COF), which are approved by Council for each Commission as part of the IUCN annual budget in conformity with article 46 e) of IUCN Statutes.
Annex to be added to this motion when Council will have approved the draft Mandates of the Commissions at its 113th meeting in May 2025.
