Steven LONSDALE

I was born and raised in Iqaluit, Nunavut.  
I have a passion for promoting Indigenous rights and advancing the use of traditional knowledge. 
I have worked for a designated Inuit organization for the last 11 years and have worked closely with protected area development, Indigenous guardians programs, and working with elders on the systemic use of traditional knowledge in policy and organizational operations. 
Currently, I am head of a newly created Marine and Research division that looks to build capacity within community based monitoring that would blend traditional knowledge and western sciences using various methods and technologies.
