Biographie
Tonio studied (landscape) ecology at the universities of Greifswald and Potsdam in Germany. In his Master thesis at the Dutch Montagu’s Harrier Foundation and the University of Groningen (Netherlands), he used GPS tracking to study the link between flight behaviour and wind turbine collision risk in harriers. During his PhD, a French-Dutch collaboration between Aix-Marseille University, ENGIE, University of Groningen and the Dutch Montagu’s Harrier Foundation, the approach from the Master thesis was extended to six raptor species and GPS-tracking data from 15 study sites across Europe. Currently, Tonio works as a postdoc at Aix-Marseille University.
