As a seasoned environmentalist, I am well-qualified to serve as a Regional Councillor for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). With over two decades of experience in governance, board management, and international organizational work, I can contribute significantly to IUCN's strategic directions. My commitment to conservation, equity, justice, and sustainable development is evident in my role as Executive Director of the Environmental Education Center (EEC) in Palestine. I have successfully guided policy and project development at both regional and international levels. Fluent in English and Arabic, with a working knowledge of Hebrew, I am equipped to navigate diverse environments. My expertise in financial management, budgeting, and monitoring expenditures will enable me to make informed decisions as a Councillor. I am familiar with IUCN’s Statutes and deeply understand the organization’s goals. As Chair of the IUCN National Committee in Palestine and a board member of various international organizations, I bring important leadership and networking skills to represent the West Asia Region effectively. My background in advocacy, eco-justice, and biodiversity conservation will provide valuable insights. I am committed to supporting one of the standing committees and contributing to the Union's oversight and development. My strong educational background and research experience further affirm my capability as an effective Regional Councillor.

As Executive Director of the (EEC), my work aligns with the (IUCN). I am dedicated to environmental education, advocacy, and conservation, making significant contributions to eco-justice, biodiversity, and climate justice in Palestine. Key highlights of my experience include: Chairing the IUCN National Committee in Palestine, underscoring my commitment to collaborative conservation. Establishing the first bird ringing stations in Palestine, which enhance bird conservation and research. Aligning Palestinian environmental legislation with international conventions, showcasing my regulatory expertise. Authoring and co-authoring publications on biodiversity and environmental justice, demonstrating my commitment to evidence-based advocacy. Actively engaging in local, regional, and international networks, including the Working Group for Climate Change from the World Council of Churches, reinforcing my dedication to global cooperation in tackling climate challenges.
