I have extensive experience in governance, sustainability, & policy, aligning closely with IUCN’s mission. My engagement with IUCN spans multiple roles, including serving as Chairperson of the Pakistan National Committee of IUCN for 4 years, where I contributed to influencing conservation policies, facilitating member engagement, & strengthening environmental governance. As a Member of the IUCN CEC, I have promoted environmental awareness, education, & advocacy at national & regional levels. Currently, as Chairperson of the Climate Action Forum (CAF), a consortium of 15 national and international organizations, I am involved in multi-stakeholder initiatives focused on stakeholder engagement, climate action and sustainable development. As Chairperson of HRDN & CEO of IRM, I managed large-scale projects, community-based environmental initiatives involving various SDGs. My role as Executive Director of the NRSP further enhanced my expertise in sustainable livelihoods, and policy-driven governance initiatives. Apart from that, I have rich experience of working on assignments with UN agencies, ILO and World Bank in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, India and Cambodia that has solidified my experience of the region and understanding of its dynamics. With decades of leadership in regional and international networks, experience in high-level governance, financial oversight, and strategic planning, I am fully committed to advancing IUCN’s priorities.
