Dr. M. Al-Mutairi stands as a distinguished researcher in the field of conservation, rehabilitation, wildlife and ecosystem management, boasting an extensive and noteworthy research career spanning over 20 years. Her wealth of experience encompasses diverse roles, showcasing her expertise, leadership, and significant contributions to the field. As a testament to her capabilities, she has assumed the role of leader for many projects, where her responsibilities extended to overseeing the entire project life cycle and building capacity at the research. She also supervised the development and training of new and junior scientists in the previous fields. Additionally, she has been involved in four technical projects at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) in collaboration with national and international organizations. Dr. Al-Mutairi is currently running huge projects in collaboration with UN to rehabilitate the damaged and polluted desert ecosystems at the State of Kuwait. Dr. Al-Mutairi was engaged as a member of IUCN since 2004 and was a member of the IUCN national committee since 2012. She also led the the National committee of Kuwait and still an active member. She is the primary contact person and vote holder of her organization and is actively involved in collaboration activity of IUCN.

Dr. Matrah Al-Mutairi was engaged with IUCN activities since 2004 and have a wide network of activities and collaboration with other members. She is active in promoting the values and image of IUCN in the fields of conservation, international collaboration and revising laws to protect the environment. She helped other organizations and NGOs to join IUCN in the State of Kuwait. Networking and brain storming for actions in the IUCN was also a major field that Dr. Matrah was focusing on. A strong support for Dr. Al-Mutairi is her over 25 years experience in the fields of environmental conservation, rehabilitation and management for ecosystems where she provided the scientific basis and management plant to stakeholders and indigenous beneficiaries to manage and conserve their ecosystems. As a woman, she strongly support the empowerment and rights of minority groups to express their capabilities and rights at the fields related to IUCN vision and goals.
