Join us for an engaging training session on Participatory 3D Modelling (P3DM), where you'll learn how to collaboratively create physical territory 3D models populated by Indigenous peoples and local community (IPLC) knowledge, enhancing effective conservation planning and management, equitable governance and community engagement, and successful conservation outcomes.

This hands-on training session will introduce participants to the powerful tools and techniques of participatory 3D modelling (P3DM), with a focus on learning how to implement the tool and create a physical 3D models of protected and conserved areas that integrate IPLC knowledge, stimulate storytelling and advocate for national pathways of recognition. P3DM has been, among others, championed by the ICCA Consortium.

Through collaborative mapping and modelling, participants will explore how to visualise and document traditional land use, cultural heritage and ecological values, ensuring that IPLCs are at the forefront of conservation planning. The session will train participants in how these models can be used to enhance governance, facilitate inclusive decision-making and foster stronger community engagement, ultimately contributing to more successful and sustainable conservation outcomes, contributing to a pathway towards effective area-based conservation. The session is implemented in collaboration with EU DG INTPA under the "COLOURS" project.
