This session will provide an avenue for brainstorming ideas on how to thrive as an early career conservationist and how to surmount challenges in the conservation career. This session will explore the role of biodiversity education and intergenerational mentoring for conservation knowledge transfer.

They say children are the leaders of tomorrow. However, most people who start on the path of species conservation do not end up in a conservation career due to financial inadequacy, lack of career opportunities, lack of adequate technical know-how, etc. Hence, in this session, we will brainstorm ideas on how to overcome these challenges through the role of biodiversity education and intergenerational mentoring for conservation knowledge transfer. This session will involve a 15-minute panel session as an introduction. This is followed by a 60-minute world café session involving five topics relevant to conservation leadership, shared among five groups with rotation done every 12 minutes. Lastly, there will be a summary session for 15 minutes to discuss the outcomes of the world café. This is to the end that every young professional present departs with a sense of belonging and bolstered hope for the future.
