Learn how to apply and use the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE). The session will highlight innovative methods for compiling data and knowledge, how to assess ecosystems, how RLE can be used to inform policy and action, and how can be used to monitor the Global Biodiversity Framework.
Description de la séance
The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) is a robust, evidence-based support tool for assessing risks to ecosystems, and has been adopted as a headline indicator under the Global Biodiversity Framework. While it has already been applied in over 100 countries across the world, implementing the RLE remains challenging for many due to knowledge, data and capacity constraints. This session will aim to build capacity to undertake RLE with IUCN members through interactive knowledge sharing and discussion with RLE experts. We will start with brief showcase presentations interrupted regularly for audience feedback. During the 2 hours session there will also be 3 group exersises . The interactive group exercises will include
1- How to define ecosystem interactions and draw comprehensive ecosystem models diagrams
2- How to Apply criteria and provide results in a standard format
3- How to use of results for Impact disclosure and monitoring KMGBF.
