FADI GHANEM

Biographie

Fadi Ghanem is the founder and President of Ghadi Environmental Association, a Lebanese national organization dedicated to protecting the environment, preserving natural diversity and preventing environmental degradation. During the eighteen years of work in the field of Education, Fadi took the lead in establishing ecological clubs in Lebanese schools as part of the “Green school, Green student” project and launched and implemented afforestation campaigns with the help of students participating in the ecological clubs. Moreover, he worked, through a network of acquaintances and through the investment of solid communication skills, on getting the approval of environmental legislations in the Parliament and on making environmental education a significant part of the school curriculum. On the other hand, Fadi established a team of experts in communication within Ghadi which contributed to successful work in the field of communication; Ghadi was the first association to create an environmental news website “Ghadi News”, and by joining IUCN, they became the only association, in IUCN Rowa, to have a communication department as a Non-Governmental Organization. They also collaborated with IUCN ROWA in several projects and produced short documentaries covering environmental initiatives. Due to success in previous collaboration experiences, Ghadi was accorded the responsibility of covering the IUCN ROWA event in Kuwait through daily short movies and press releases as well as media reports. Ghadi News also covered the IUCN congress in Marseilles highlighting the role of ROWA in the region and publishing the news of the Congress Forum as well as producing short films and reportages about the topics that have been discussed in general.
