Pourquoi participer

The aim of the session is to encourage the participation of a variety of stakeholders, including donors, civil society, the private sector, consultancies and CTFs, to demonstrate the catalytic role they can play in securing long-term funding to achieve national conservation objectives and, ultimately, help to meet global biodiversity targets

Description de la séance

This session will explore key strategies and lessons learnt from mainstreaming biodiversity at national and regional levels through sharing the COMBO+ program experience and concrete examples. It will highlight the important roles played by the private sector, biodiversity consultancies, NGOs, CTFs, governments and civil society in supporting these efforts. Topics will include: • The role of the mitigation hierarchy to help business and governments meet biodiversity commitments and targets • How to integrate the mitigation hierarchy into national policy and business practices, focusing on important tools for planning and decision making, with concrete lessons learned, and involving all key stakeholders • How Conservation Trust Funds can support, amplify and sustain these initiatives, and provide conservation options for business
