Pourquoi participer

Event participants will explore the UNESCO World Heritage ‘no-go’ commitment and global standards for corporate sustainability, discuss opportunities and challenges in developing and implementing corporate policies to protect World Heritage sites, and learn about business practices in support of biodiversity conservation and the implementation of multilateral environmental agreements.

Description de la séance

This event will take stock of actions by companies and key industries – including extractives, hydropower, and finance sectors – to safeguard UNESCO World Heritage sites, recognized as some of the most important conservation areas on the planet. Nearly 2,000 companies, industry associations, and financial institutions have committed to avoiding activities that could negatively impact these irreplaceable places, in line with the World Heritage ‘no-go’ commitment. Participants will engage with a multi-stakeholder panel to discuss the opportunities and challenges businesses face in upholding and strengthening these commitments.
