Jorge Liber Saltijeral is a biologist. He currently serves as an advisor at the Ministry of the Environment of Mexico City, where he coordinates the Environmental Information System and contributes to the design of public policies on ecological restoration, urban biodiversity, and environmental governance.
He has served as a specialist in agrobiodiversity and beekeeping at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as a technical officer at the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO), and as a consultant for FAO-Mexico on short food supply chains and urban food systems.
He has worked on projects related to social and solidarity economy, agroecology, and mycotourism with various universities and organizations. He is a member of the Network of Localized Agri-Food Systems and has been awarded scholarships from the Peter Tielen Foundation and the International Youth Office of Quebec. His career combines institutional, academic, and community experience in strengthening sustainable agri-food systems, biodiversity conservation, and territorial development with a social and environmental approach.
