Description de la séance

Biodiversity and healthy ecosystems provide natural solutions that strengthen resilience and help societies adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change. Sustaining species and genetically diverse ecosystems is therefore central to any climate adaptation strategy, as they are better equipped to adjust to shifting conditions. This session will highlight the UAE’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Roadmap, launched at COP28 in Dubai, as a guiding framework for advancing inclusive and effective climate adaptation. The roadmap emphasizes robust institutional support and broad stakeholder participation, ensuring that the perspectives of diverse social groups—including women, men, youth, children, people of determination, migrant workers, elderly, low-income groups, and Indigenous communities—are reflected in policy and practice. Through stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and knowledge sharing, the session will explore how inclusivity enhances both biodiversity conservation and climate resilience. By empowering communities to take ownership of adaptation initiatives, the approach ensures more sustainable and impactful outcomes for nature and people.
