Apex predators play a critical role in maintaining ecosystem balance, supporting biodiversity, and securing ecosystem services that benefit people. Yet they face increasing threats from habitat loss, human–wildlife conflict, illegal trade, and climate change. Conserving apex predators is not only vital for wildlife but also for sustaining the well-being and resilience of communities that share their landscapes. This session will explore how global partnerships can scale up conservation of apex predators and foster coexistence between people and wildlife. Drawing on perspectives from science, policy, finance, and field practice, it will highlight innovative strategies such as conflict mitigation, habitat connectivity, rights-based approaches, and sustainable livelihood solutions. The discussion will also emphasize the importance of linking local action with international frameworks, recognizing the role of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, and strengthening networks to deliver lasting biodiversity and development benefits.Moderator
