Without ground-truth data to verify what models and satellites claim, trust erodes and nature-based solutions risk failing to deliver the outcomes they promise. As a result, markets for carbon and biodiversity credits will stall and ESG disclosures will lack credibility. Likewise, insurance for nature projects becomes too risky where the data falls short. Billions of dollars intended for conservation, restoration, and climate mitigation are left vulnerable. This validation gap is now one of the major bottlenecks in scaling high-integrity nature-based solutions. Leveraging our 15 year history in mobilizing skilled volunteers to collect rigorous field data in difficult-to-access places, we are announcing Ground Truth for Nature, which delivers scientifically verified field data to validate emerging technologies applicable to the climate and biodiversity space.Organised by
