In this session, participants will learn the ten steps involved in setting up a national Red List process, with guidance on how to handle the most important tasks in developing and maintaining a robust national Red List. The session will involve a mixture of presentations, group exercises and discussion to generate an all-round understanding of the key issues involved in national level red listing, including:
- Identifying the most appropriate lead institutions.
- Deciding on the scope of the national assessments.
- Governance of the national Red List.
- Providing Red List training for assessors.
- Data compilation.
- The assessment process.
- Publication of the national Red List.
- Communicating results.
- Use of national Red List information and data
