Description de la séance

World Heritage sites represent the planet’s most outstanding natural places, yet many face escalating conservation challenges. The IUCN Green List Standard offers a globally recognized framework to ensure these sites are effectively managed, equitably governed, and resilient to future pressures. This event will showcase how the Green List can support World Heritage conservation at various stages: from strengthening the nomination of candidate World Heritage sites, to guiding on-going monitoring of World Heritage-listed sites, to mobilizing action to address conservation challenges. Through short presentations and an interactive discussion with government representatives, participants will gain insights into practical applications of the Standard, synergies with tools like the IUCN World Heritage Outlook, and opportunities for collaboration. The session will highlight leadership in linking World Heritage and the Green List to deliver on global biodiversity commitments.
