Primarily this event aims to convene key stakeholders to highlight the importance of protecting plants, on which the majority of life on Earth depends, and addresses this often-overlooked aspect of biodiversity loss.
Description de la séance
The interactive programme launches the legal Plant Trade Coalition (IPTC) through a short video illustrating the scale, drivers, and impacts of illegal plant trade, followed by a concise presentation from the Coalition’s Steering Committee exploring the importance of a coalition and collaborative efforts to address this issue. The event will introduce the Coalitions’ tools, behaviour-change strategies and case studies, before concluding with networking over canapés, providing space for dialogue and shared learning to address this critical challenge to biodiversity loss. Emphasising cross-sector collaboration, gender-inclusive approaches, and engagement of the next generation, the session showcases plant protection while extending the conversation on illegal wildlife trade beyond fauna to include flora.Organised by
