Pourquoi participer

Coastal and marine tourism is one of the MENA region’s greatest economic and cultural assets, with immense potential to drive regeneration. This session unites hospitality leaders, allied industries, and policymakers to co-develop Regenerative Ocean Health Protocols, shaping a climate-resilient, thriving tourism sector that safeguards ecosystems and supports coastal communities.

Description de la séance

Part of the MENA Oceans Summit 2025, this session engages the hospitality sector and allied coastal and marine tourism industries to co-develop a set of Regenerative Ocean Health Protocols. Participants will explore how recreational ocean sectors are being decarbonised and prioritise key environmental challenges across the sectoral value chain. The session will lay the foundations of the Regenerative Coastal Tourism Working Group under the MENA Oceans Network, facilitating ongoing engagement to develop policy recommendations guiding coastal and island destinations in supporting climate mitigation and adaptation. It will also translate outcomes into technical standards and best-practice guidelines for possible inclusion in the Coastal Tourism Breakthrough and the MENA Oceans Regenerative Blue Economies for Coastal Resilience outlook report. These guidelines aim to support a climate-resilient, flourishing coastal tourism industry that preserves valuable ecosystem services for the benefit of tourists, employees, local residents, and planetary health.
