This event will present IUCN’s vision for Protected and Conserved Areas (PCAs) to 2030, highlighting how the Union’s global and regional strategies contribute to achieving Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Participants will gain insights into IUCN’s value proposition for countries: setting standards, providing guidance, and mobilising knowledge and partnerships to expand and improve area-based conservation. The discussion will showcase practical pathways for scaling up effective, equitable, and sustainably financed conservation, drawing on regional experiences and global initiatives.
