Description de la séance

Artivism—artistic activism—uses creativity to challenge the status quo and inspire social and environmental change. From Smokey Bear in the United States to global climate marches, art has long been a powerful tool for activism. In this interactive workshop participants will explore how young people today are continuing this legacy through art. Using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), an educational approach that encourages critical thinking, communication, and visual literacy, participants will engage with youth artwork from Bow Seat’s Ocean Awareness Contest and reflect on the role of art in environmental movements. Then, they will put their creativity into action by envisioning how the Earth could look if 30% of land and water were protected by 2030, as committed under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Their collective art will be shared as part of the global #NatureForAll 30x30 Art Contest.
