NbS can be catalysts for transformational change. Session participants will learn about transformational NbS for climate change, including barriers and enablers for successful NbS implementation, and engage in dialogue with ENACT Partners and NbS leaders at the forefront of scaling NbS implementation for the co-achievement of the Rio Conventions.
Description de la séance
Whilst the role of NbS is recognised as paramount for addressing interrelated environmental crises and ensuring people’s wellbeing, gaps remain in achieving and communicating effective implementation. This session will be an antidote to that shortfall through case-study presentations illuminating NbS implementation barriers and enablers in conjunction with candid dialogue between ENACT Partners and participants on solutions for overcoming challenges. Key themes in case-study presentations will provide a red thread for ensuing discussions; however, the interactive segment will employ an adaptive structure to allow for more creative and dynamic dialogue. The themes initially introduced stem from the latest understanding of NbS implementation gaps and include misrepresentation of NbS and thus controversies emergent from its misapplication, limited clarity on the potential of NbS to address multiple crises and critically advance gender equality and social inclusion, and a dearth of publicly available information on scalable, replicable and bankable NbS.Moderator
