Pourquoi participer

NbS can be catalysts for transformational change. Session participants will learn about transformational NbS for climate change, including barriers and enablers for successful NbS implementation, and engage in dialogue with ENACT Partners and NbS leaders at the forefront of scaling NbS implementation for the co-achievement of the Rio Conventions.

Description de la séance

Whilst the role of NbS is increasingly recognised as paramount for addressing interrelated environmental crises and ensuring people’s wellbeing, gaps remain in achieving effective implementation. This session will be an antidote to that shortfall through championing transformational NbS for climate change. Such fundamental change requires a systems perspective that accounts for the complex interactions between environmental, economic, and social systems and guides interventions that work across rather than within silos. NbS are, by definition, systemic in nature — designed to address multiple environmental, social, and economic challenges simultaneously. However, to truly act as levers of long-term systemic change, NbS must be properly planned, governed, financed, and assessed. Through unpacking NbS implementation examples, this session will provide an open forum for participants to discuss these core elements, including how best to surmount barriers and harness enablers, such as through the COP30 Action Agenda. The event will commence with a Ministerial opening segment.
