Anushri Tiwari, an urban planner and researcher, is usually seen and found exploring the socio-ecological systems (SES), particularly the relationships between blue-green systems and communities. Presently, she is unearthing various dimensions of SES, as a process that drives them on ground. She understands the paradox “wicked problems” present but acknowledges the role systems thinking can offer to manoeuvre around it. Every viewpoint is a lived reality which is only the front end, and she views that the real story lies in the back end that drives what we comprehend. A community’s standpoint is essential but so are the limitations of governing agency, the practicalities and contexualisation of best practices and financing “out of the box” ideas. She resonates with idea of conducting exercises and studies by collaborating, learning and working with different stakeholders in cities - local government, people, regulatory agencies, civil society organization and most importantly academia and researchers, in order to gauge a holistic picture of the present to reimagine the future.
