Pourquoi participer

Be part of a transformative dialogue where women’s leadership and traditional knowledge drive innovative, nature-positive solutions. It exemplifies inclusive conservation in action aligning with Congress 2025’s call for innovation, justice, and bold community-driven pathways for nature and people.

Description de la séance

This session highlights the leadership of women from grassroots and local communities in West Asia who are pioneering nature-based solutions rooted in traditional practices such as cultivating herbs and native plants. When women lead, they bring perspectives shaped by their roles as knowledge holders, resource managers, and community stewards. The discussion will underscore how public sector support for community- and women-led conservation legitimizes local knowledge, integrates it into broader strategies, and scales impact. It will also showcase inclusive environmental governance, promote eco-friendly women-led enterprises, and emphasize the critical role of traditional knowledge in modern conservation. By bridging grassroots leadership with institutional action, the session will provide actionable insights for integrating gender equity, microbial diversity, and cultural practices into biodiversity frameworks and policies. Organized by the Bahrain Women Association for Human Development, the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, IUCN CEESP, and the CBD Women’s Caucus.
