This event contributes to one of the eight Transformational Area now included under IUCN Programme (2026-2029). This side event will showcase practical case studies and policy insights from across Asia that illustrate how biodiversity conservation strengthens the One Health approach. Presentations will highlight the role of biodiversity in preventing zoonotic disease risks, sustaining ecosystem services, and enhancing resilience in production landscapes. Case studies, sustainable trade standards, legal frameworks for One Health, corporate engagement and youth and SDG linkages. The session will emphasize how biodiversity underpins human and animal health, and how cross-sectoral cooperation can mainstream biodiversity into One Health planning and governance at regional and national levels.
