What must be done now to ensure that nature-positive development becomes the norm worldwide? This is the key question addressed by this High-level panel on nature-positive economic transition. The panel features leaders from governments, economic and financial organizations, private sector, and civil society, representing experiences from around the globe.

While conservation has mitigated some human impacts, nature loss continues, threatening ethical, ecological, and economic stability. A key challenge lies in realigning economic systems with nature across all levels and sectors. This transition requires incentives for nature-positive actions, disincentives for harmful practices, and careful management of inevitable trade-offs. This session will gather global leaders from governments, finance, business, civil society, youth, and Indigenous peoples to discuss concrete actions for aligning economic and societal systems with nature. The session will explore pressing questions on enabling nature-positive economies, such as the role of Nature-based Solutions, financing needs, private sector involvement, and ensuring equity. It will aim to shift from commitments to tangible transformation by drawing on global experience and cross-sectoral perspectives. Panellists will share strategies and collaborations, positioning IUCN to lead and support global efforts toward sustainable, nature-positive development.Partenaires
