Join diverse stakeholders to explore advancements in monitoring, inclusive financing, and policy frameworks that position soil health as a nature-based solution for conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable land management.
Descripción de la sesión
Soil health is crucial for biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and food security, yet over one-third of the Earth's surface is degraded, affecting over 3.2 billion people globally. Smallholder farmers play a key role but often face barriers in accessing knowledge, resources, and financial incentives. Integrating soil health into conservation efforts is critical for achieving the goals of the three Rio Conventions. This event will engage policymakers, researchers, businesses, youth, and farming communities to address the socio-economic, policy, and practical aspects of soil health. It will showcase innovative tools, inclusive financing mechanisms, policy, and on-the-ground practices that effectively embed soil health in conservation strategies. The discussion will focus on holistic, evidence-based, gender-responsive frameworks that prioritise equity and multi-stakeholder action, providing clear recommendations for scaling up soil health efforts for enhanced conservation, climate resilience, and land restoration.
