Join our session which promotes innovative sustainable agriculture for a new generation of land restorers! Learn about several innovative open source educational materials that help bridge current gaps in education on this topic.

Building on the premise that poor agricultural practices can trigger land degradation while innovative agriculture can contribute to land restoration, a global course was recently co-developed by university partners and sustainable agriculture experts worldwide. The aim is to foster a new generation of students in agriculture programmes with knowledge and skills to transform agriculture practices from being sources of land degradation to contributors to land restoration.This session starts with a call to action for more access to restoration education by a youth leader, followed by presentations on two approaches to restoration education through co-created open source materials, with the aim to enable knowledge exchanges among session attendees, and ultimately contribute to building new networks and capacities. The two approaches cover open access courses, available to educational institutions that teach agriculture, land restoration, natural resources management and sustainable land management.
