Descripción de la sesión
TGB is one of Africa's largest smallholder agroforestry carbon projects with over 50,000 smallholder farmers from across 4 major landscapes in Uganda. The project has restored over 40,000 hectares with indigenous tree species in Uganda's ecologically vital landscapes, enhancing climate resilience, conserving biodiversity and diversifying farmers' income streams. This learning session will showcase approaches that have been used to support local farming communities to access private sector international financing within the context of landscape restoration as a business. The farmers themselves will be present to explain how they have leveraged on the opportunities to establish farmer-led green business enterprises through ECOTRUST’s business incubation processes, fostering the transition from micro – mezo – macro enterprises while conserving natural resources and productive systems. Attendees will hear inspiring experiences from the farmers, including wildlife corridor restoration, collaborative forest management as well as private sector relations based on insetting, offsetting, off taking and Bio-credits.Organised by
