Por qué asistir

A chance for anyone interested in protected/conserved area management planning to contribute to this vital new WCPA publication through a participatory workshop. Alongside established experts, we welcome those engaged in planning within community and Indigenous managed areas and privately protected areas, and young conservationists with an interest in planning.

Descripción de la sesión

Management planning is widely recognised as an essential element of effective management of protected and conserved areas; management plans (or similar) are frequently official requirements. WCPA has not published good practice guidance on the topic since 2003, since which major advances have been made in protected and conserved area know-how, management and governance, in approaches to planning and in the diversity of those engaged in area-based conservation. New, up-t0-date guidance is frequently requested from the Commission.
The event invites interested individuals interested and able to contribute to the design and development of a new guide, to be launched at the 2027 World Protected and Conserved Areas Congress. The event is not restricted to established planning specialists, we welcome early and mid career conservationists, and those engaged in diverse approaches to planning within Indigenous and community managed areas and territories.
