Biografía

Leonie Meier is the Global Lead for Ecosystem Restoration and Grasslands & Savannahs at WWF, where she drives initiatives to restore degraded ecosystems and protect biodiversity. With over a decade of experience in environmental policy, she has led impactful projects at the FAO and UNECE, including forest landscape restoration, sustainable forest management, and biodiversity conservation.

Previously, she has spearheaded sustainability initiatives like the UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion and contributed to global frameworks on climate resilience, circular economy, and payments for ecosystem services. Her expertise lies in ecosystem restoration, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy to promote a sustainable and climate-resilient future.
