Eoghan KELLY

Biografía

Originally from Cork, Ireland - where whale watching off its coast is said to be the best in Europe - Eoghan joined IUCN in 2024 from the Council of Europe in Strasbourg where he notably served with the Bern Convention secretariat from 2019-2024 working on numerous conservation issues: Case-file system, expert group on large carnivores, illegal killing of birds, IAS, marine & freshwater species, reporting obligations of the Parties and also coordinating the various stakeholders 
of the Convention. Prior to that, he was positioned at the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE, at the Committee on Migration.

Eoghan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce International with French obtained at University College Cork, and a Master’s in Leadership for Sustainability from Malmö University in Sweden.

When not working towards the preservation of nature, he enjoys music, both listening as well as playing, sports, with football at the top of his list, and travelling.
