Tirtha Prasad Saikia

Biografía

Tirtha Prasad Saikia is a frontline development activist deeply engaged in a range of community-based interventions, driven by his grassroots experience, passion and visionary leadership. As the Director of North-East Affected Area Development Society (NEADS), based in Assam, North-East India, he has been at the forefront of supporting marginalized communities in their struggle against humanitarian crises and poverty. Over the past 14 years, Tirtha has led diverse initiatives at NEADS, including humanitarian response and advocacy, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, human rights and sustainable development at local level. His work spans several indigenous communities across Assam, and he is closely working with several networks and coalitions at local, national and international level.
