Dr. Srijana Joshi is an Ecosystem Specialist for ICIMOD’s work on Landscapes. She is a plant ecologist by profession with over 15 years of experience working in the field of ecology and natural resources management.
Her work has focused on the practical application of research in rangeland and wetland degradation, invasive species, and biodiversity conservation. She is involved in several interdisciplinary projects on ecosystems across multiple countries to address conservation and sustainable use issues in the region.
Srijana has contributed to over 40 publications including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, working papers, and technical reports. She also edited the book ‘Global plant invasions’ and served as guest editor for Nomadic people special issues and many journal special issues.
She holds a PhD in evolutionary ecology of invasive plants from University of Tuebingen, Germany, and a master's degree in plant ecology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
