Allen CEDRAS

Allen Vosrie Cedras serves as the Chief Executive Officer and a board director of the Seychelles Protected Areas Authority (SPGA). With over 15 years of experience at the Seychelles National Parks Authority, now known as SPGA, he has held key positions, including Manager for Marine and Terrestrial National Parks and Director of Research for two years.

Before becoming CEO in June 2021, Allen was an International Project Manager with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he spearheaded the Joint Management Area Project between Seychelles and Mauritius.

Allen’s extensive expertise spans protected area management, scientific research and monitoring, management planning, and Ocean Governance. He has worked with nearly all Marine Protected Areas in the Western Indian Ocean, playing a crucial role in the conservation and sustainable management of these essential ecosystems.

Holding a Master of Science in Conservation and Rural Development from the University of Kent, Allen is actively involved in conservation efforts. As a founding member of the Western Indian Ocean Marine Protected Area Network, he promotes collaboration among MPAs in the region. Additionally, he assesses and certifies MPA professionals under the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association.
